What is the story behind the studio?★_★

The Story of X-Lab Studio: From a Physical Laboratory to the Digital Gaming WorldEvery indie game studio has an origin story, but few are as unique and deeply personal as the journey of X-Lab Studio. Before becoming a dedicated digital game developer, the studio’s roots lay not in lines of code, but in a real-world workshop filled with plants, stones, and chemical elements. The Early Days and the Original NameIn the beginning, the founder envisioned a small team doing physical research and experimenting with natural ingredients. The initial idea was to name this team XI-Lab. However, the founder quickly realized that the name looked too cluttered, was difficult to read, and was hard for people to remember. To fix this, he made a simple yet brilliant design choice: he removed the "I" from the name but hid it directly inside the logo, sliding the vertical line into the center of the "X".
With the name simplified to X-Lab, and later expanded to X-Lab Original, the project was fully rooted in Germany. During this era, all of the project's websites and communications were strictly in German, reflecting a tight-knit, local team.
The Physical Laboratory and the Turning PointThe "Lab" in the studio's name was meant literally. In his workshop, the founder conducted experiments with plants and minerals to discover active remedies. Through hard work, he successfully developed two unique creations: a substance that could trigger headaches and, more importantly, a corresponding remedy designed to relieve them.
However, circumstances soon changed. The founder was separated from his original team, leaving him completely on his own. Without his partners, and with his research equipment left behind at the old workshop, he could no longer continue his physical experiments. He had to adapt, and a brand-new idea was born.
The Rebirth as a Gaming StudioInstead of giving up, the founder pivoted his passion for experimenting into the digital space. X-Lab Original went into a well-deserved half-year hiatus to restructure. When it returned, it was officially reborn as X-Lab Studio.
The founder embraced life as a true indie solo developer, trading the physical workshop for a virtual one. Instead of mixing plant extracts, he began experimenting with game logic, pixels, and tools like GDevelop. To reach a global audience with titles like xRO, the studio shifted its focus entirely to gaming and transitioned its public language to English.
Today, the distinct white logo remains a proud nod to its history—a fusion of the "X" and the hidden "I," reminding everyone of the time when a German headache-remedy lab transformed into a passionate indie game studio.
